Congratulations to POFST competitors at the Bowie Invitational
On Sunday, February 10, 2008 several members of the POFST Team achieved
success at the Bowie Valentine's Invitational Competition endorsed by
the Ice Skating Institute. The most celebrated event was the first
place Gold Medal taken by the Production Team's first rendition of
"Beatlemania." Coached by Amy McPartland with the help of Kira Woods,
25 members of the team ranging in age from 5 to two "adult moms" skated
through a mix of popular songs sporting the 60's look with go-go
dresses, wigs, instruments, and bright yellow (submarine) rain slickers.
Several individual team members also basked in the glow of medals including Gold medals earned by 5 year old Kylie Bulger of Crofton in Pre-Alpha, Evan Alexander 7 of Annapolis in Delta, Mollie McAteer 7, of Annapolis for Spotlight Delta, and Lauren Donnelly 10, of Hanover for Spotlight Freestyle (FS)3. Crofton's Lila Perry 8 took home Gold for FS1 and Lauren Bulger 7, took two for FS3 and Spotlight FS3, while Alex Newcomb 14, of Odenton earned Gold for Spotlight FS4. Silver medals were also worn home by Hanover's Emma Ford 7, for Character Spotlight Delta, Annapolis' Madelyn McAteer 9, for FS1, and Audrey Simmons 12, of Odenton for FS4. Pasadena's Hannah Rock 11, took 2 Silver Medals for FS1 and FS1 Stroking, and Allison Fortney 10, of Millersville for Spotlight FS4, who also took the Bronze for FS4. Bronze medals were also earned by Erica Rosasco 9, of Millersville for Individual FS1, Ashley Strong 10, of Millersville, for FS2, and Cailin Brown 8, of Crofton for FS3.
