The Piney Orchard Figure Skating Team ended an exciting month of competitions at their home ice arena on Sunday, March 30^th when they hosted over 160 Ice Skating Institute competitors from Maryland and surrounding states at their annual “Reach for the Stars” Spring Invitational.  Fort Meade Post Commander Col. McCreedy along with the a color guard from Greenbelt’s Eleanor Roosevelt Senior High School, Major Salvatore Bova presiding, and complimented by flag bearing skaters, presented a moving mid-day ceremony.  The Piney team provided all competitors with complimentary skate related items.  Proceeds from sales of tee shirts, headbands, flowers, handcrafted jewelry and blankets, healthy and sweet treats as well as raffles of several themed baskets will help support the Piney Orchard Ice Rink Figure Skating Team’s yearly community, social and competition events.
   The POFST’s own Senior Icettes and Junior Starlettes Youth Synchro Teams earned Gold medals and its Production Team earned a Silver medal for its Beatlemania performance.  The Team also took its third Silver Trophy for overall achievement.
    Individual achievements included Kylie Bulger of Crofton who earned her third Gold medal in the Pre-Alpha 5 year old Division while Peyton Behling of Millersville earned the Silver; a Gold for Deanna Middlebusher of Laurel for Beta 5 year olds; Silver for Molly McAteer of Annapolis for Delta 7 years olds, and Gold for Alley Yates of Glen Burnie in Delta 10 year olds.  Crofton’s Lila Perry, achieved a Silver medal for FS1 8 year olds.  In the FS1 9 year old division Madelyn McAteer of Annapolis earned her second Gold and Erica Rosasco of Millersville her second Bronze.  In FS2 10 year olds Rylie Noblis of Crofton earned Silver while Katelyn Wilbur of Odenton took the Bronze position.  In the FS3 division Crofton’s Lauren Bulger earned her second Gold for 7 year olds; Cailin Brown of Crofton a Silver for 8 year olds, Sarah Levine of Ft. Meade a Bronze for 9 year olds, and Lauren Donnelly of Hanover Bronze for 10 year olds.  The Spotlight division saw Gold medals earned by 5 year olds Peyton Behling of Millersville and Kylie Bulger, Crofton for Couples Low for the second time, and in the Delta division Molly McAteer, 7, of Annapolis won her second Silver and Emma Ford, 7, of Hanover a Bronze.  Rylie Noblis, 10, of Crofton won her second Silver medal for Spotlight FS2, Lauren Bulger, 7, of Crofton a Silver for SP FS3, Lauren Donnelly, 10 of Hanover won her second Gold for SP FS3 and Allison Fortney of Millersville her second Bronze for SP FS4 and her second Silver for Individual FS4 for 10 year olds. Sydney Behling, 10, of Millersville earned a Gold for Artistic FS5, Alex Newcomb, 14, of Odenton for Bronze FS4-5, and Audrey Simmons of Odenton her second Bronze for FS4-12 year olds.  Lauren Risher, 13, of Crofton wore home her first Gold medal for FS5.  In competition of the 4-person Jump & Spin categories the Piney teams of Pink took a gold medal for Low and Blue took Silver; the Yellow took a gold for Medium, the Red a Silver for Intermediate, and the Green a Silver for High.
